Have you seen Beejay Olson’s Skull Flowers??

Aren’t they just… magical?
One day, I hope to be able to order one of his fantastic Halloween decorations. Right now, we are focused on making the inside of our cozy, magical home a little more functional. I should really get around to buying a sofa…
So until that day I am able to order all the Halloween décor I want, I am making this mini, indoor Beejay Olsen inspired bouquet. It is a very quick, easy project, and adds a touch of spooky coziness that I love about this season.
Items I used to for this project
- Variety of artificial flowers and foliage
- Wire cutter
- Hot Glue Gun
- Glue Sticks
- Plastic Eyeballs
- Small Plastic Skulls
- Dry Floral Foam
- Craft Knife
- Vase
Making Skull Flowers
Carefully cut the skull down to size

Apply hot glue to edge of cut skull.

Hold skull in place in center of flower.

Congratulations! You’ve made your skull flower!

Repeat as many times as required.
Making Eyeball Flowers
Put hot glue in the center of the flower.

Press down on the centre of the flower and hold in place for a moment

Congratulations! You’ve made yourself an eyeball flower!
Repeat as many times as required.
Arranging Flowers
To arrange the flowers, I trimmed down the stems using a wire cutter to a length I thought they looked good (the length will vary depending on the look you are going for and the size of the vase).

I also used a dry floral foam block which I cut down to the right size. I then kind of shoved it into the vase.

I used the leftover skulls and eyeballs to cover up the floral foam inside the skull.

I then played around with the arrangement of the flowers until I liked the look of it.
We did it! We just made a spooky inspired bouquet! I love how it is adding a touch of spookiness and Halloween whimsy to my kitchen table.
